Panel 1: Housing Crisis from Multiple Views:
This panel will explore the current housing situation in Kirkland; how did we get here and how is it impacting the business community?  Panelists include:

  • Kurt Triplett, Kirkland City Manager: Kirkland Housing Challenges
  • Mike Connolly , Managing Broker, Windermere Kirkland, The Real Perspective
  • Samantha St. John, Executive Director Kirkland Chamber of Commerce: Challenges facing small business
  • Melissa Acton Buzard, President Chameleon Technologies, the Technology Market perspective
 
Panel 2: Steps Towards a Solution:
This panel will look at how the City, real estate and building industry, and State elected officials are responding to the situation. Recommendations from the City of Kirkland’s Strategic Housing Advisory Board and experts in State regulatory issues including but not limited to Condo liability reform will be presented.  Panelists include:
  • Dawn Nelson, Planning Manager, City of Kirkland, The Kirkland Strategic Housing Advisory Board Recommendations
  • Rodney Rutherford, A Kirkland resident and member of The Kirkland Strategic Housing Advisory Board
  • Mayor Amy Walen, What can be done from a regulatory standpoint
